These "Studio Songs" were written and recorded in my art studio during the COVID 19 pandemic lockdown. During that time and outside of my steady practice of oil painting, I delved back into music but this time writing, performing and producing independently from the ground up without any collaboration of musicians, producers and engineers. And for that matter, of any expectations, timelines or formulas. That said I borrowed the musical talents of three individuals that were within my pandemic circle- Lydia Coffey (Falling in The Fire; piano, harmonies), Grace Coffey (Northern Most Home; Ukulele) and David Mockford (Children Fly; Synth. Into The Sun; Beats, Synth). The process was nothing less than a true deep dive into art and music construction and regardless of it's final form and reception it was an experience that truly defined art therapy for me personally. Now I can move on.
The songs are bits and pieces of late night scratchings. Dark and light, saturated, de-saturated. Like our world. To sum up without any further analytics- the songs grew off the tempo of a clarity train.
